Application As Process Optimization Tool

  • Cultures start in bioreactor under production conditions
  • On the day of interest, cells from the production run are transferred into 50ml tubes
  • Process parameters are then screened in the shaken system under defined conditions for gas transfer
  • Best parameters are then verified in a bioreactor

Ventilation

    Ventilation of the culture vessel helps to avoid oxygen limitation and affects the CO2 exchange. Since the latter makes the pH highly sensitive to ventilation (accumulation versus stripping of CO2), a defined and adaptable ventilation is desirable.

    Maintains cell suspension cultures on any incubating shaker while also allowing full control of CO2 and O2 exchange rate using selectable perforations on the cap. Internal CO2 is shown to be adequately maintained in the cultures for days even in non CO2 incubation conditions.

    The disposable 50ml Tubes are centrifugable to 5000Xg and feature easy to write on labels and one-hand removable caps to allow for easy, rapid sampling from many units.

The new TPP Flat Bottom Tubes innovative design combines the features of a flask and a centrifuge tube into one unit, eliminating time-wasting transfer steps and making them the ideal addition to any lab's tissue cultureware.

  • Each tube has a flat 10cm² TC-treated growth surface and can be centrifuged in a standard 50ml centrifuge insert at up to 1,200 x g.
  • The tubes wide neck opening makes it easy to access the interior and their exceptional optical clarity allows for microscopic examination of tube contents.
  • A white marking area and volume graduations can be found on the side of each tube.
  • The racks are specially designed for these flat bottom tubes.
  • Each rack holds 8 tubes.
    • Large openings in the racks assure optimal aeration during incubation.

These TPP Tissue Culture Tubes complement the culture flasks ideally with an added advantage of centrifugation.

The flat section has impeccable see through qualities and can also serve as a mini-flask.The large tube has a flat surface offering an advantage under a microscope. Viewing through a tubes curvature is distorted, the negative effect is eliminated by a flat viewing surface opposite the growth surface. The culture surface is perfectly flat and TC-treated. A wide-neck allows easy accessibility. The tube can be centrifuged by adding water to the centrifuge insert to prevent breakage during centrifuging. The base flat features two protrusions which protect the base against scratches. Also available is a filter cap which provides sterile ventilation and guarantees a gas exchange without contamination.
